I put a lot of effort into the research today, so I thought I'd post a note in the news section to keep things up to date. You can still comment on any of the previous news articles of course, and I encourage people to do.
Six new topics in Smoking Brands and Promotion have been added this week, including the first of a new series of smoking history, starting with 1800-1899 cards and cover art.
One new topic in Smoke:Tube has been added today, the topic of hub channels. This is because quite a few youtube channels out there are either re-uploads of copyright material, shared cam videos, clips from shows and movies, and a whole lot of things mixed together. Some of these hubs also contain playlists and further tagged content; which leads into a long travel through their archives.
yeah, with so many lurkers this forum still feels like it could be so much more. There is the barrier of moderation for newbies, but thats not an issue for the regulars anymore so I hope thats not too challenging a thought.
I've no idea how this forum will turn out or the direction it will go, I just know I wanted to get some feedback from your guys about certain topics and of course recent shows on WSC and MHS. Steve K and I talk and ramble on almost a daily basis back and forth with new ideas and things we can do to move forwards and keep the ship afloat. Steve was very serious about shutting up shop last year, as things like smoking - rationed in the 40's, flaunted in the 1960s and 1970's, celebrated in the 90's and 2000's, are now swept under the carpet. Its a cycle, and perhaps they will 'invent' something which changes the law and the natural art of consuming a few dry leaves in a paper tube will return.
If people want to watch the ship sail away then it will do so, but if they want to jump on board and help bail, the ship will stay afloat longer and will be more fun for everyone.
Some say "how can he be passionate about something which is so smelly awful and deadly". I say thats a load of bull, cigs might lead to things which are challenging to the body, but not as much as alcohol, medicine, processed fat and processed sugar. Of these 4 item, cigs are the least damaging to the body, IF consumed with respect and moderation.
Anyway, this is also Womens Smoking Culture, so of course Ladies and Models are the core topics on the table. I dont know about you guys, but I love talking about women and ladies and models.
