Ok, I've posted some ads above, and I think you know where I stand on vaping. If you are going to have chemical smoke in your mouth you may as well have the less harmful natural real things.
I do like the fact that they went to town on the sexy aspect of WSC in general, and now instead of boring quitting ads and posters all over the place, there are now sexy women smoking, in malls and precincts and shopping centres. I have also seen temp stands popping up, and ads fixed to the sides of busses, taxis, shops and litter bins. Like this one:
They are about 3 feet high from the ground on a car or taxi, litter bin or prop stand; perfect kiddie height. And as smoking these things is perfectly legal at any age, there is nothing to stop kids taking them to school; and learning to smoke.*
We also see the return of smoking in bars and resturants and shopping malls and all the other places where people hang out; and even inside a busy supermarket waiting among a queue of people. Its like temp smoking until you can smoke for real, and in theory the idea has brought back the days where people could smoke anywhere.
So I have mixed feelings in general and I'd like to share this on here; the only place I can share it in serious thought. Of course I also wrote this to get your comments below.
* Yes, I am well aware it is perfectly legal to smoke cigs at any age, it is only illegal when it comes to buying them. If a 5 year old gets stopped on the street, the only thing the police can do is ask there they brought them. Parents in Eastern countries and Asia dont get fined, but in the West of course there would be fines based on child abuse (as they see it) if parents are caught dealing.
They just started with the anti-ecig ads here on the late-night adult cartoons Chanel (Adult Swim) basically claiming that ecigs are made by Big Tobacco. Not sure if this is true but they can get away with a lot more lies in these anti-smoking ads.
Yes its funny. Ecigs are made by Big Tobacco, how do you imagine they get the nicotine? Who else processes nicotine in such volumes to put out all these ecigs one after the other. They made a formula for vaping and so they had to make a market for the product by licensing devices to inhale it. They might not even own the patents to these devices, but they all depend on the formula; which is supplied by....
Perhaps they will bring out 'cleaner' vaping? and 'low toxin' vaping? with %'s on the side of the package saying 'contains 0.5% X'. Then we may get to watch ladies rolling around in fields with the NEW Improved! Super-Deluxe Ham and Eggs version ads. (George Carlin there).
